My Bunny Blue Collection

I was inspired to start this series from a friend who wanted a gift for her daughter. A one of a kind bunny that she could have as a keepsake and maybe even pass down to her daughter. What a huge heart thumper!!!

Her request : the bunny be her daughters favorite color, blue.
She saw my treasured stash of yarn and saw her favorite color nestled in the mass.

I had never made a blue bunny before!

I made one and well, I was smitten!!!! So I needed to try another shade of blue...
and so the inspiration flowed....

I introduce to you my Bunny Blue Collection

 Linna, Lynae, Aravind and Livie

(take a guess what each of their names mean :) )

Linna
Linna was the first in the collection.
Though she is the runt of the pack she doesn't lack in spunk or sweetness.

adopted
Linna is made of 100% Superwash Merino Wool. Her color is a Wonderland Heather which is a delicate light blue color. It has more green than a traditional baby blue giving it a slight teal undertone. The heathered strands range from an almost white to a medium ice blue.
Linna is about 9 inches from head to toe and 11.5 from ear to toe.
She has black glass eyes and is stuffed with clean polyfil, some polypellets and steel shots to give her weight.
Her own ear is stitched bent and doesnt pull straight.

As a reminder, none of my bunnies are meant for play or children as they are made with pieces that could be choked on.

Lynae
Lynae was second to be made.

Aravind
Aravind was third to be made.

Livie
Livie was last to be made.

Outside of Bunnies

I really hope I am not the only one but I am truly obsessed with patterns and tutorials.
Currently and for the last many years, non-fiction has been my favorite part of the library.
I love learning and I get giddy and inspired when I look through the patterns on etsy.
Both knitting and crochet... and quilting and making mohair bears... and and and ...

Here is a little bear called Knot Head

Then there came Boe.
A little lamb born on a winter day. I do love yarn more in cold seasons.

Copper and Tin Tin

I have two brothers, both younger than me.
Very very different from one another.
My brother, Jon requested I make him a bunny with a tweed yarn.
We both loved the characters in the animated movie Nine for their sackcloth bodies.
I wanted that same feel for his bunny.
I asked him to pick out a tweed he loved....
He picks two... hmmmmmmm sly guy.
Here is Copper and Tin Tin
My first set of twins and new style of eyes

A few more made

This is what Heaven looks like

We call this one Owwie.
She makes it all better.
This little one was made for a very dear friend whose heart has a few tiny holes.

This one was made for a young girl
I called her Some Bunny's Love.

This is Bunson
He was my first experiment with my new eyes.
Pretty darn cute, if I do say so.

This is Aimee.
I was inspired to make her as a gift for a sweet sweet friend who has been so generous towards me....
I needed to make her something that reminded me of Friendship.

Venturing Customs

After these 6 bunnies I started to feel confident enough to start making more to adopt out.
It was hard for me because everyone I made, I wanted to keep...
But I was becoming the Crazy Bunny Lady so I had to let some go.

These were the ones that came next.

Lost
This one is very very special to me.
She went to one of my dearest friends. She has a secret personality.
That is all I will say.

(oh and that she is my one and only bunny I ever made boots for. Oh and a mouth, lol)

Grout's Baby Bunny
This little one is my first paid custom made to be adopted out. His mommy is a wonderful lady whom I have know forever and I do believe with all my heart he will be well loved.

Bottums
Bottums. Soft as Babies Bottoms.

Mae

This is Mae.  She is my newest crocheted bunny at Whimsey WhatKnots.  Made of Baby Alpaca, Merino Wool and Nylon, she has been combed t...
